Giants are the early Frontline Fairplay Index leaders.

Despite a home defeat to Leeds Rhinos in Round 1 of the engage Super League, Huddersfield Giants are the early leaders of the Frontline Fairplay Index.

Jon Sharp's men gave away just six penalties in their 30-10 loss to the current engage Super League champions.

Last year's winners of the Frontline Fairplay Index for engage Super League, Harlequins RL, are just one point behind the Giants after giving eight penalties away in their 47-28 home defeat to Wigan Warriors.

Two game bans for both Scott Moore of Castleford Tigers and Warrington's Steve Pickersgill have been costly for both sides in this week's Index.

Castleford Tigers, who were last year's winners of the Frontline Fairplay in The Co-operative National League, are currently bottom of the Index with 30 points, five points behind eleventh placed Warrington Wolves.

Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos, who have both played one extra game, are placed ninth and tenth respectively.

The winners of the Frontline Fairplay Index, the best disciplined side in engage Super League, will win a trophy and a £5,000 prize from one of the UK's leading bathroom suppliers to the bathroom industry, Frontline Bathrooms.

The scoring system for the Frontline Fairplay Index in the engage Super League is:
1pt Technical penalty
2pts Foul play penalty
3pts Sin bin
4pts Sending off sufficient
5pts Each match ban (ie five matches is 25 points)
